The preliminary studies that were carried out with the beginning of the formation of the Bahrain Defense Force have proven the inevitability of finding an effective naval weapon, with a high degree of efficiency and competence, to perform its duty to the fullest. To maintain the security and safety of the country.
The first step was to prepare qualified national cadres, including officers, engineers, administrators and technicians, by sending the first batch of these cadres in 1974 to study the various maritime disciplines.
On March 20, 1979, the Kingdom of Bahrain inaugurated its first warship, the Al Zubara ship, in a ceremony held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Great King of the country, the Supreme Commander, may God protect him. Within the framework of the development and modernization process that goes along with the plan to develop the Royal Bahraini Naval Force, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Great King of the country, the Supreme Commander, may God protect him, on the seventh of February 1985 AD, and on the occasion of the celebration of the Seventeenth Defense Force Day, inaugurated the ship of the Kingdom of Bahrain ( Al-Jabri).
On the occasion of the 19th Bahrain Defense Force Day, and on the 21st of April 1987 AD, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Great, Supreme Commander of the country, may God protect him, inaugurated the missile ship (Abdullah Al-Fadil).
On February 3, 1988, the Royal Bahraini Navy witnessed an important quantum leap, as the late His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, may God rest his soul, inaugurated the two missile ships: (Manama and Muharraq), which are among the most modern warships, capable of carrying helicopters. This event had a great impact and admiration beyond all imagination. This is what the Royal Bahraini Navy members showed of their skill in performing the duty, and elaborate training of their quality, very proficient.
And with the continuation of the process of modernization and development of the Royal Bahraini Navy. The twenty-second day of the Bahrain Defense Force was celebrated, and on February 5, 1990, the warship (Al Taweelah), which was considered one of the most modern pieces of war in the Royal Bahraini Navy, was inaugurated due to its modern technologies.
The role of the Royal Bahraini Navy has emerged through its participation in the international effort to secure the maritime trade line, and escorting commercial ships to and from the territorial waters of the sisterly State of Kuwait after the war of liberation, in confirmation of the close brotherly relations between the two brotherly countries.
